Sára Kousková continued her strong run of form on the Ladies European Tour with another excellent result. At the Lalla Meryem Cup in Rabat, Morocco, she finished tied sixth on -8 after rounds of 73, 69 and 69.
The tournament was played at Royal Golf Dar Es Salam, where the conditions were very different from the previous week in Germany. After cold weather at the Amundi German Masters, the players faced high temperatures, firm fairways, fast greens and a technical course that required patience, precision and smart decision-making.
Kousková opened the tournament with a round of 73, level par, before moving up the leaderboard with a second-round 69. She repeated the same score in the final round and secured another top 10 finish on the Ladies European Tour.
“I am mostly happy with the fact that I stayed calm on the course. This time we managed to bring that into all three rounds, and that is probably what makes me the happiest,” Kousková said after the tournament. “I really value the stability of my game. I made only three bogeys during the whole week. Two of them came after driving the ball into the water on the 14th, which is probably the only real mark on this tournament. A better result could have come with more precise putting, because I did not read the greens particularly well during the first two days.”
Another key part of the week was managing energy in demanding heat. Kousková arrived in Morocco after a strong but intense week in Germany, where she had finished tied 10th at the Amundi German Masters.
“Another positive is that I managed to keep my energy in the exhausting heat for all three days. I was a little tired after Germany, so we paid extra attention to that, and I am glad it showed on the course,” she added. “Overall, I am happy that we are able to use the experience from previous years in current tournaments, whether it is about energy management or patience.”
For Kousková, the result in Rabat was another important step in the European part of the season. After finishing inside the top 10 in Germany, she followed it with a sixth-place finish in Morocco and confirmed the consistency of her game.
“The last two results show that staying patient and keeping going makes sense. We definitely do not want to change anything heading into Evian, where I am really excited to play. I believe the good golf can continue there,” Kousková said.
The Lalla Meryem Cup was won by Canada’s Anna Huang, who produced a brilliant final round of 66 to finish one shot ahead of Australia’s Kelsey Bennett.
There was also a strong Czech presence in Rabat. Alongside Kousková, Tereza Melecká and Patricie Macková represented Czech Pro Golf Team, while Kristýna Napoleaová, Klára Davidson Spilková and Lucie Váchová also competed in the tournament. Kousková was the leading Czech player of the week.
Me lecká and Macková did not make the final round. Macková finished on +7 after rounds of 75 and 78, while Melecká also ended the tournament on +7 after rounds of 78 and 75. Both players took the week as another valuable experience on a demanding course.
For Czech Pro Golf Team, the season now continues in France. The team moves to Evian, near Lake Geneva, for the Jabra Ladies Open de France. All four CPGT players will be in the field, with Jana Melichová joining Kousková, Melecká and Macková.
For Sára Kousková, Evian will be a special week. She returns to the place where she claimed one of the biggest victories of her professional career and will defend her title at the Jabra Ladies Open.

Sára Kousková skončila šestá na Lalla Meryem Cupu v Maroku
Sára Kousková pokračovala ve velmi silné sérii výsledků na Ladies European Tour. Na tradičním Lalla Meryem Cupu v marockém Rabatu obsadila dělené šesté místo se skóre -8 po kolech 73, 69 a 69.
Turnaj se hrál na hřišti Royal Golf Dar Es Salam a přinesl výrazně odlišné podmínky oproti předchozímu týdnu v Německu. Po chladném Amundi German Masters čekalo hráčky v Maroku velké teplo, tvrdé fairwaye, rychlé greeny a technické hřiště, které vyžadovalo přesnost, trpělivost a správná rozhodnutí.
Kousková vstoupila do turnaje kolem za 73 ran, tedy v paru. Ve druhém kole se výrazně posunula leaderboardem po výsledku 69 ran a stejné skóre zopakovala také ve finálovém kole. Celkový výsledek -8 jí přinesl další umístění v elitní desítce na Ladies European Tour.
„Jsem spokojená primárně s tím, že jsem byla na hřišti klidná. Tentokrát se nám to povedlo do hry přenést ve všech třech kolech, z čehož mám asi největší radost,“ řekla po turnaji Kousková. „Moc si cením toho, že hra byla velmi stabilní. Zahrála jsem za celý turnaj jen tři bogey. Z toho jsem dvakrát poslala míček do vody driverem na čtrnáctce, což je snad jediná kaňka tohoto turnaje. Lepší výsledek mohlo přinést jen přesnější puttování, greeny se mi tady první dva dny nečetly zrovna nejlépe.“
Důležitým tématem týdne bylo také zvládnutí energie v náročném vedru. Kousková do Maroka přijela po povedeném, ale intenzivním týdnu v Německu, kde obsadila dělené 10. místo na Amundi German Masters.
„Dalším pozitivem je to, že jsem v úmorném vedru zvládla mít energii po všechny tři dny. Byla jsem po Německu trochu unavená, takže jsme si na to dávali extra pozor a jsem ráda, že se to projevilo na hřišti,“ doplnila. „Celkově jsem ráda, že se nám zkušenosti z minulých let daří využít při aktuálních turnajích, ať už se to týká doplňování energie nebo trpělivosti.“
Pro Kouskovou šlo o další velmi silný výsledek v evropské části sezony. Po desátém místě v Německu navázala šestým místem v Maroku a potvrdila stabilní formu posledních týdnů.
„Poslední dva výsledky ukazují, že vydržet a být trpělivý dává smysl. Rozhodně nebudeme chtít nic měnit v Evianu, kam se ohromně těším. Věřím, že dobrá hra bude pokračovat i tam,“ dodala Kousková.
Turnaj ovládla Kanaďanka Anna Huang, která ve finálovém kole zahrála skvělých 66 ran a o jednu ránu porazila Australanku Kelsey Bennett.
V Rabatu mělo české zastoupení znovu výraznou podobu. Vedle Kouskové startovaly za Czech Pro Golf Team také Tereza Melecká a Patricie Macková, dalšími českými hráčkami ve startovním poli byly Kristýna Napoleaová, Klára Davidson Spilková a Lucie Váchová. Nejvýraznější český výsledek týdne patřil právě Kouskové.
Melecká a Macková tentokrát do finálového kola nepostoupily. Macková skončila na skóre +7 po kolech 75 a 78, Melecká uzavřela turnaj rovněž na +7 po výsledcích 78 a 75. Pro obě šlo o další cennou zkušenost na hřišti, které bylo kvůli květnovému termínu výrazně tvrdší a rychlejší než v předchozích letech.
Pro Czech Pro Golf Team nyní pokračuje sezona přesunem do Francie. Tým míří do Evianu poblíž Ženevského jezera, kde se odehraje Jabra Ladies Open de France. Na turnaji se představí všechny čtyři hráčky CPGT, protože trojici z Maroka doplní také Jana Melichová.
Pro Sáru Kouskovou půjde o mimořádně zajímavý týden. Právě v Evianu bude obhajovat loňský titul, jeden z největších úspěchů své dosavadní profesionální kariéry.
