Houston, Texas – Czech golfer Sára Kousková is enjoying the season of her life on the Ladies European Tour (LET). At the prestigious Aramco Houston Championship, she led her team to victory in the team competition, finishing with a total score of -32 – just one shot ahead of the team led by Mimi Rhodes and Celine Boutier. Each player on the winning team – April Angurasaranee, Ana Belac, Sofie Kibsgaard Nielsen, and captain Kousková – took home a $35,000 prize.
After the victory, Kousková was full of emotion:
“The team energy is something truly special,” she said with a big smile. “I’m incredibly proud of our team. We stayed calm, we stuck to our plan, and we believed in each other until the very last shot.”
She described the decisive moment on the 18th hole:
“When April made that birdie on 18, we all just looked at each other, and we knew… this was it. We did it together. It was a moment I’ll never forget.”
This marks Kousková’s fourth title in the 2025 season – two in individual events and two in team competitions. Individually, she has already celebrated wins in Evian and Tenerife this year. With this Houston triumph, she now sits second in the Order of Merit, with one more big event to come in China this October.
Kousková admitted that the team events bring a different kind of energy:
“In individual golf, it’s just you and your game. But here, you play for each other. You celebrate every good shot together, you support each other after mistakes. That’s what makes it so powerful – it’s golf, but with a heart and a team spirit,” she explained.
She also emphasized that even though team results don’t count toward the individual ranking, they are highly valued by players:
“It may not give you points for the Order of Merit, but the feeling of winning as a team? That’s priceless. It shows you can handle pressure, adapt, and trust each other completely.”
In the individual part of the tournament, Kousková made the cut with a total of -2, after rounds of -3 and +1. She admitted the second round was tough:
“I struggled a bit on the back nine today. Missed a few fairways, and when the putts didn’t drop, it turned into a round over par. But honestly, the team win overshadows all of that. Today was about us, not just me.”
The final event of the PIF Global Series awaits in China in October, and Kousková is ready:
“We have one more chance to finish this amazing season on a high. I can’t wait,” she concluded.
Sára Kousková slaví čtvrtý titul v sezóně 2025: Týmový triumf potvrzuje její nejlepší rok na LET
Houston, Texas – Česká golfistka Sára Kousková prožívá životní sezónu na Ladies European Tour (LET). Na prestižním turnaji Aramco Houston Championship dovedla svůj tým k vítězství v týmové soutěži s výsledkem -32, když o jedinou ránu porazily tým Mimi Rhodes a Celine Boutier. Každá z hráček vítězného týmu – April Angurasaranee, Ana Belac, Sofie Kibsgaard Nielsen a kapitánka Kousková – si z Texasu odvezla šek na 35 tisíc dolarů.
Po triumfu byla Kousková plná emocí:
„Týmová energie je něco výjimečného,“ řekla s úsměvem. „Jsem neskutečně pyšná na náš tým. Zůstaly jsme klidné, držely se plánu a věřily si až do poslední rány.“
Rozhodující moment přišel na osmnáctce:
„Když April na osmnáctce proměnila to birdie, jen jsme se na sebe podívaly a věděly jsme, že je to tam. Byla to chvíle, na kterou nikdy nezapomenu,“ popsala Kousková s nadšením.
Pro Sáru Kouskovou to znamená už čtvrtý titul v roce 2025 – dvakrát vyhrála individuálně, dvakrát týmovou soutěž. Individuální vítězství slavila letos v Evianu a na Tenerife a nyní jí patří druhé místo v Order of Merit. Poslední turnaj série PIF Global Series ji čeká v říjnu v Číně.
Podle Kouskové mají týmové soutěže úplně jinou atmosféru:
„Individuální golf je o vás a vaší hře. Tady hrajete jeden za druhého. Radujete se společně z každé rány, podporujete se po chybách. To je ta síla – je to pořád golf, ale s týmovým srdcem,“ vysvětlila.
Zároveň zdůraznila, že i když se výsledky z týmů nezapočítávají do individuálního žebříčku, jejich prestiž je obrovská:
„Možná za to nejsou body do Order of Merit, ale pocit týmového vítězství? Ten je k nezaplacení. Ukazuje to, že umíte zvládat tlak, přizpůsobit se a úplně věřit svým spoluhráčkám.“
V individuální části turnaje prošla cutem s výsledkem -2 po kolech -3 a +1. Sama přiznala, že druhý den byl náročnější:
„Zejména v závěru jsem se trochu trápila s drivery. Když pak nepadly ani kratší putty, byl z toho výsledek nad par. Ale upřímně – týmová výhra to všechno přebila. Dnes to nebylo o mně, ale o nás.“
A co dál? Poslední turnaj sezóny už má Kousková v hlavě:
„Máme ještě jednu šanci zakončit tuhle úžasnou sezónu ve velkém stylu. Už se nemůžu dočkat,“ uzavřela.
